Ingredients to Avoid with Dry Skin

Skin care products can work great on your skin if you are using just the right type of products for your skin type. This means that if you have dry skin, it is best to find out what ingredients are not good for your skin. We are here to explain the ingredients to avoid with dry skin.

 Ingredients to Avoid

Dry skin is nothing to joke about. Many of us get the worst dry skin during the changes in seasons. For some, summer time makes it worse, but for others, winter does it. What can we do to change it? There are many ingredients to use that will help you to avoid dry skin. One of the most important things to remember is that taking hot baths and showers can be part of the cause of your dry skin. Hot water can actually cause your skin to lose the valuable moisture that it needs. It does feel so good on the skin, but this is the number one ingredient to avoid in the winter, especially if you have dry skin.

Perfumes and fragrances are another part of the dry skin problem. If you are using skin care products on your face that contain fragrances, you are in trouble! Fragrances in skin care products can cause your skin to dry out. Certain types of alcohols can also dry out your skin, so if you do have dry skin, it is best to avoid these ingredients.

 Ways to Combat Dry Skin

Dry skin isn't something that you have to deal with daily. There are many ingredients out there that can help bring some moisture to your skin. Look for ingredients such as glycerin, antioxidants, and plant butters and oils. These ingredients will help your skin to retain moisture and keep your skin looking and feeling smooth and soft.
